what an incredible weekend! saturday morning matt got into new york and we immediately went here to watch the USA vs. England world cup game!
we tried getting into nevada smith's but the line was out the door and they werent planning on letting anybody in, but the penny farthing ended up being so much fun! we watched the game from a smaller bar down stairs in the basement and by the time the game started it was packed. of course i wish we had WON, but a tie is definitely alright with me.
later that night i took him to Times Square and we grabbed dinner at the espn zone and watched the dodger game! there wasnt a lot of people there so we got to sit in the big comfy recliners while we ate. sort of embarrassing if you think about it.
the next morning we went to church at apostles on the upper east side and then tried to go into central park but the national puerto rican day parade was blocking the entrance. typical :) instead, we grabbed lunch at five guys burgers (yum!) with tyler and then headed down to the financial district and walked around in the rain to check out ground zero and the statue of liberty!
definitely the best burger ive had in a while.
we ended the night at a cafe right near my apartment while watching the lakers game! a laid back weekend, but super fun spending it with somebody from texas. ive been missin it.
